The plot of the clip, as in the original story, builds around a zombie boy falling in love with the girl. To be honest, I realise my idea is a bit similar to the original clip, however I've expanded it a lot and added different details, which I personally find interesting and feel like they could have been added in the original video. I see it more as a comedic love story, in which a zombie boy tries to hide his identity while dating a girl he loves, nearly failing every time.
The music video consists of two different parts:
1) His performance as an artist.
In this section we, as an audience, see him as a singer playing with his band, outside of any narrative. I imagine it as being in a room with bright green and pink colours and smoke, in order to create spooky atmosphere, that would support the main 'zombie theme' of the clip, but would also look glamorous.

2) The main story in which he falls in love.
The music video begins with him, sitting somewhere in a cafe with his friends. All of them look like normal people, with no hints of being zombies. The main hero notices a beautiful girl, walking down the street. He follows her with his eyes, his jaw drops down and comes off his head. Before the jaw reaches the table one of his friends catches it and tries to stick it back to the main hero's face.
Straight after he runs to her and says 'Hey, look, I'd like to get your number and a link to your FaceBook', which is the line of the song. After that nearly the whole clip they are going out with each other, dating in a different places like cinema, restaurants, e.t.c, in each of which he is very close to uncovering himself, which creates a comical effect.

For example, they are walking holding hands and she notices an ice-cream bar (or anything exciting like that) without any warnings she drags him with her, which makes his hand to rip off the body. She doesn't notice anything and caries on walking towards the ice-cream bar while he runs towards her to stick the hand back up to the body.
Or, for example, they came to the restaurant together. From the look the waiter gives the main hero we understand they know each other. They sit down and after a while the waiter brings something on a plate, covered with a curtain. The girl is reading the menu. The waiter puts the plate in front of the main hero and uncovers it. There are fresh brains on the plate. The waiter gives a hero a wink. The zombie boy starts to panic and throws the plate with brains back to the waiter, before the girl has noticed. She looks at him and at the waiter, covered in something pink and red.
Or we see the main hero as a zombie at the graveyard with his friends. He looks nervous and is telling something to others. At the end of the speech he grabs a human skin from the chair nearby, which he uses to hide the fact that he is a zombie. Then he comes up to two graves and looks at the flowers left on them. After a moment he picks one of the bouquets and in the next shot gives it to his girlfriend.
Overall, all the 'main body' of the clip he is trying to win her heart, hiding his zombie identity by wearing human skin, however every time he is accidentally very close to uncovering himself, which adds a comical effect to the love story. At some point towards the end of the clip he decides to propose to her. We understand that from his gesticulation during the conversation with his zombie friends at the graveyard. One of his friends nods and brings him a ring box. He takes a ring box, takes another bunch of flowers from the grave and proposes to her. When he stands on one knee in front of her and opens the box - we see that there is somebody's finger with the ring on it.
She is shocked. He is shocked as well. He stands up to calm her down, but a small piece of his face skin comes off and shows flesh and a bit of brain. She starts to run away, he runs after her, but his leg cracks and he drags it behind him, trying to catch her. She runs away screaming.
He comes back to the graveyard very angry and dissapointed. He has a little fight with the friend, who gave him that ring box. Other zombies try to calm them down. One of his friends got an instant idea. They all grab musical instruments and drive to her house. When they've set up everything, he throws a stone in her window. And another one. Then he throws his friend's hand, holding a stone into the same window. She opens a window and they start singing, all being zombies.
When the chorus has finished, on the line 'If my heart ever beats - it will beat for you' he rips out his heart from the chest and holds it up in the air in his hand, showing to her.
The heart is beating. He falls on his knees. She starts to panic and runs down the stairs. He has fallen on his back, still holding a heart in his hand, which is no longer beating. She grabs it and puts back in his chest. After a moment he opens his eyes. The heart beats.
