Handmade moodboard.

My mood-board represents the contrast between different parts of our opening sequence - the beginning where the main hero looks innocent and the ending where she turns out to be the killer.

Soft pink and purple colors, pictures of the kitchen, nice dress and the kissing couple are juxtaposed to dark red, grey and black pictures of the woman with the knife, a couple after the fight and the man with a tape on his mouth.

At the start of the collage there is a woman in old-fashioned dress, holding a bleeding apron, which connotes her psychological problems. Next to it there is a brain – doesn’t necessary apply to cannibalism – just a nice representation of a stereotype of women “eating men’s brains”.

I’ve also stick some sayings from the magazines on the top of the pictures, which play the role of annotations like "He slapped me across the face”, which definitely expands the idea of domestic violence.

For example, here, I’ve found a really creepy jaws in the magazine and added “you look super cute when you smile” on the top, so that it juxtaposes well.

Also, in the middle of the mood-board there is a picture of the man screaming and the saying across his mouth is: “He represents the side of us that is evil, the little Hitler that is inside us all…” – which actually pretty much tells the audience straight away that the male character in our opening sequence is not a totally innocent victim of the crazy woman. Furthermore, there is a female hand pointing at him, imitating a gun, which, also reveals the villainous nature of a woman.

The bottom left corner contains a lot of negative pictures which represent the second half of the opening sequence, where we realise that the woman is the actual murderer. There is a picture of the woman with the knife in her hand and “My attitude is based on how you treat me” above her head, which explains the reasons why she goes mad and stabs her husband.
