Editing workshop 1.

Editing workshop 1.

After the ‘Camera Workshop 2’ (http://doramartynyuk.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/camera-workshop-2.html) where we’ve been filming our own little sequences (I've been a brilliant actress by the way) - we moved on to editing. For that purpose we’ve used the ADOBE PREMIERE program, which I personally find quite comfortable.

THE BEST THING ABOUT THE PROGRAM IS THAT THE SCREEN IS DIVIDED IN 4 PARTS, WHICH REALLY HELPS TO KEEP CONTROL OF YOU WORK.
THE TOP PART IS ALL ABOUT THE VIDEO YOU SELECTED – THERE YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU ARE EDITING AT THE MOMENT.

THE BOTTOM LEFT PART CONTAINS FOLDERS, WHICH ARE CALLED ‘BINS’, WHERE THE UPLOADED VIDEOS CAN BE FOUND, WHICH ARE CALLED RUSHERS = UNEDITED FILES.

AT THE BOTTOM RIGHT ALL THE MAGIC HAPPENS – YOU CREATE CLIPS AND VIDEOS OUT OF RUSHERS(OR DAILIES IN AMERICA).

NOT TO LOSE YOUR MAGIC YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU NEED TO CONSTANTLY SAVE YOUR WORK TO PROTECT IT FROM COMPUTER CRACKING OR YOU MESSING SOMETHING UP.
THERE IS LOTS OF KEYS FOR SHORTCUTS FOR EXAMPLE FOR SAVING,  FOR CUTTING(‘C’), FOR PUTTING A TIMELINE(‘I’), E.T.C.
YOU CAN FIND OUT MORE ABOUT IT IN THE ARTICLE BELOW.

"Twenty Premiere Pro CS6 Power Tips for FCP Editors"

IT'S PROBABLY BETTER TO TAKE A LOOK AT THIS GUY, WHO ALSO TALKS ABOUT SHORTCUTS IN ADOBE PREMIERE.

ANYWAY, ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT KEYS IN THESE PROGRAMS IS ‘C’, WHICH STANDS FOR CUTTING. TO CUT THE VIDEO YOU JUST NEED TO PRESS ‘C’ AT THE MOMENT ON THE TIMELINE, WHERE YOU NEED YOUR VIDEO DIVIDED – THIS WILL CHANGE NORMAL ARROW TO ANOTHER WITH WHICH YOU JUST CLICK AT THE VIDEO AND IT CUTS IT. TO ZOOM IN OUR OUT OF THE TIMELINE YOU CAN PRESS '+' OR '-', WHICH WOULD HELP YOU TO FIND THE PERFECT MOMENT TO CUT AT.
PRESS ‘V’ TO GET YOUR NORMAL ARROW BACK.

OVERALL, I'VE FOUND THIS WORKSHOP QUITE USEFUL IN ORDER TO KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IN DIFFERENT EDITING PROGRAMS, CAUSE THEY ALL ARE PRETTY MUCH THE SAME, BUT TO USE THEM WELL AND FAST YOU NEED TO PRACTICE IN EDITING MORE AND REMEMBER SOME OF THE KEYS THAT STAND FOR THE PARTICULAR COMMANDS.
